Motorola Bluetooth Install in s2000
One of the benefits of having a shop is that we get to see the latest toys and play with them first hand. A lot of the ideas on my cars are usually based on client ideas to do work on their car.
Recently we had a guy install an Eclipse 6610 deck with the new Eclipse Bluetooth Interface from Parrot. This was done in a BMW but after seeing how convenient it was to be able to pick up cars with a voice command or touch of a button, I wanted to try it in my s2000.
Granted our cars are louder and drop top has wind issues, I wanted to see if we can get a clear hands free system.
Keep in mind this setup can be used as a stand alone system since I bought a Motorola Bluetooth kit. If you do have an aftermarket deck that has the phone mute wire then you can set it up to mute the radio as I did
The kit should be compatible with all Bluetooth capable phones and consist of the brain module, small wired MIC, Control Keypad, and a small speaker.
I will have pics of the intall in a bit but I did make one change to the system. The small speaker they provided had to be mounted under the dash so I picked out a Clarion 1/2 DIN center channel speaker instead. I plan on intalling this piece where the OEM radio is along with some other electronics.
Still trying to decide where to mount the control unit and MIC so this will be my weekend project.
