Mounting amps to trunk lid
Hi,
I've seen a couple pictures where people have mounted their amps underneath their trunklid. How do you do this? I've looked at mine and I can't see anywhere to attach an amp rack - do you have to drill into the trunk?? I don't fancy doing this!
Any tips much appreciated (and photos would be handy!).
Cheers,
Dan.

I had this setup last year but I've sinced changed it but it can be done.
A couple of things to keep in mind about it.
1. You have to drill into the trunk and bolt/screw the rack up there. If you screw this up, its off to the body shop, so make sure you have the right tools for the job.
2. You must understand how heavy this is afterwards. The stock trunk springs have ZERO hope of holding it up after the amps are mounted.
3. You need to install either 2 gas shocks or one strong linear actuator.
4. I do not suggest this type of install.
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest I would give this a good soild 6 maybe even a 7 for this car. On other cars its much easier because you might say they have a real trunk,.. where-as the S2000 has a wannabe trunk.
It can be done but its a pain in the butt good luck.
If you are going to attempt this I can provide you with pictures.

Thanks DarkKnight. Its a shame you have to drill into the trunk as I don't feel confident enough to do this - I know I'd screw it up!! You never know though, I may feel brave enough at some point!
By the way, I saw pictures of your install and it looks fantastic - well done!

You could do it!, you just need the right tools
Did you see the new setup or the old one?

I've seen both your set-ups and if you improve on your latest creation I really will be impressed!

Ahhhh, go ahead and run a few screws through the decklid... just slather some caulk all over the top of your trunk and you'll be fine Maybe you could cover up some of the screws with a wing or something
