Default mounting an amp on the underside of the trunk lid?

so i was thinking ways of saving space in the trunk...anyone ever mount an amp on the underside of the trunk lid? im thinking that you could finable it so you could drill into the "skelliton" of the trunk lid for mounting purposes and if it were a digital amp you could mount it upsiude down. this would keep it off the floor and allow for more useable space. anyone done this?

You'd have to seriously beef up the springs. I've just got a Muz saddlebag up there and my lid barely pops open as it is. Otherwise, and accounting for flexing cables every time you open it, sounds like a neat idea.

I had two alpine amps mounted like that, didn't really save much space because they came down and took up a lot of room once you closed the trunk. It worked fine with screwes screwed into the part of the trunk that was away from the top I also used wood spacers so give me some distance from the trunk.

Also no need to beef up the springs it should work fine.

how/what can you use to beef up the springs? or are there factory springs for cars with and without a spoiler that might be stiffer/better for this?

if you want to stay with OEM parts, the springs for the CR trunk lid would be the best option...that spoiler is the heaviest when compared to the normal wing spoiler or lip spoiler...not sure if it'd be enough for the amps you want to mount?

just buy the springs that come with the spoiler package. people install the spoiler and skip the springs. thats how i picked mine up. i have a jl audio 5 channel 500/5 up there. works fine and stays up by itself. lemme try and did up a picture.

heres when i had big ppi amp up there.
