OK guys, after 2 days of tedious and tiresome work, I have installed my MP3 changer in the secret compartment. Works great, looks great, and convenient as all hell.

Before the pics, I would like to personally thank Jim, aka PAS2KNut, for taking personal superbowl sunday time to help me out, sent me HELMS by MAIL, and answering my numerous phone calls. Jim, I appreciate your help, you are the kind of person who makes this forum what it is.

Here is the changerbox sitting on my kitchen chair.

Heres the interior of the center console....taken out....just come clips...

Bonus NYC winter pic

Console on my kitchen chair...was a PAIN to take out...

Closer look at it.

Aftermath of install....Lid closed (nevermind the stuff on the seats, thats unabsorbed armorall)

Changer in the compartment. (those yellow things are just spare fuses for my system should I ever need any)

Closer look

As you can see, the mount is a few degrees off, so the changer isnt 100% straight....the fit is so tight you wouldnt believe it. I along with Jim, recommend a heat gun (which I didnt have) to help stretch the plastic.

Shot from the rear. As you can see, everything closes perfectly and flush. Actually the compartment cover closes smoother than stock....go figure.

Here is where I mounted the Ai-Net brain. easy to get to, invisible when seat is in normal position.

Closer Look at the unit.

Anyway, this is hard work, and time consuming as hell, but the end result and convenience, and the pride for those who care is unparallel. Any comments or questions, being em on!

what did you need the AI-Net "brain" for? couldn't you just go straight into the AI-Net input on the head? or do you have XM or something?

btw, i'm assuming the 'brain' is a KCA-410C? no... that's not right, the connection layout is incorrect.

that's an XM tuner isn't it? TUA-T020XM looks about right. hah! AI brain my arse.

just picking -- nice install and very clean...

Jim's a good man -- i seem to recall him giving me a couple tips on pulling clips for the center console.

Phil you just gave me like 7.14 minutes of laughter. Asking questions and answering them......priceless......

Yes, thats my XM unit. I know I could have mounted it in the trunk, but I like the accessability of it.

Im happy everything went according to plan (minus the repeated phone calls to Jim)

Next month.....TV!

Oh, and thanks for the compliments!

The install looks great! Glad it all worked out. Did you really do that install out in the elements or did you have a garage? If you did that outside you must have some thick skin to handle the cold!! Again great job! Glad I could be of assistance to you!

Garage? HAH!!!

Look closely at the pic. my front tires are fronzen in about 3.5 inches of solid Ice. That thing aint going anywhere for at least a few more days till it gets a little warmer. I champed it out in the cold. Worth every minute! Thanks again buddy!
