MS Streets & Trips 2006 w/GPS *FEEDBACKS?*
I will just chime in here for what its worth.
I have TOMTOM on the Treo 650 running with a BT GPS module. I use it in the S. Problem, I'm too dam old to see the little screen anymore.(eyes starting going at 35) I have also used the MS S & T since 2004 release. It's OK to see where you are, but crap for getting you there quickly. I also have Delorme 2005 on the notebook. A better piece of software, but slow refresh rates which are a pian in the ass if your in a mtro freeway situation, if its too slow you'll miss your turn and then its the famous "Off Course, recalculating".
The smaller TOMTOM system out now seems to have cleared up alot of issues and if you get a chance to see it run, check that out. It will do away with any mounting issues due to size, and it's all self-contained.

I use CoPilot with my Pocket PC. I think they also have a laptop version. They have great software and excellent customer service. I had some problems with the old version but they sent me the new version for free and it fixed all of my problems.

You can see my setup if you come to the Southwest S2000 In The Sun Meet! Jordan also has a pretty cool setup. I bet you have seen that already.
Those pictures are of the old version with my old camera.

Here is a link to the Laptop version. It is more expensive but it is worth it!

i use an ipaq 3835 with copilot sleeve.
started w/ pocket copilot. a bit slow (but my pda is slow). very well designed user interface, very easy to see large directional arrows. only complaint is difficulty in seeing the actual map to see upcoming turns. very good map loader, can load by corridor along route or selectable area. maps don't take up much space. included desktop application does not support gps, but acts as map loader and trip planner. saved trips cannot be exported to handheld map db for use. planner and loader functionally separate though on same program. i understand newest version of copilot is much improved, with live update/road status capability by cell. i'm assuming the laptop version is even better.
moved to routis (don't know if its still supported/changed names) much faster interface, full screen map view makes easy to see upcoming route. poor turn indicators, too small, dont' stant out from the map picture. hard for quick glances. good maps, but very poor map loader/management. loads only by states or small radius around a city. individual states are large (20-50mb each) long multistate trips require large memory card. had desktop version included that supports gps. havent played w/ much. only works w/ gps connected.
played w/ copy of streets & trips. no gps to connect to laptop, but looked functional. tried handheld program. it sucked. couldn't import a route, only a map. w/ gps it would only show you where you were and how far from something you were, no automatic routing on how to get there. very limited map size (due to loader, wouldn't even let me save a full view of my little home town)
