Default RSX Type S Bose Subwoofer

I have the richbass woofer from my brother's RSX-S laying around the house and I figured my new S could use some thump. I've been searching through the forums on how to make this work, but I haven't found any instructions. BTW, I am all stock, no HU, no nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT:
From what I've gathered, I'll need some type of line convertor?

Questions:
1. Exactly what will I do with the line convertor?
2. Hook the four wires to the connector of the bose sub?
3. Does the OEM 05 HU have RCA outputs in the rear?
4. Will I need to run a power wire of some sort?

i am NOT an electronic junkie but as far as i remember from when i had my Type S, the Bose sobwoofer only worked with Bose amp that was under the seat and there was no way to modify anything on the stock sound system and if you mixed and matched parts you pretty much were damaging your system, and everybody who was doing someting with the sound on RSX-S had to by-pass everything that was stock

the converter (that i guess you would have to use, but im not sure) would simply lower the signal becaue Bose sub and Type S sound system was running on really low power, if you hooked it up to a regular head unit or even the oem one you would most likely fry the tiny Bose sub, which is only 5 inches or so... once you open the box

my post probably didnt help you much but i shared what i know

I know its possible to retro-fit the bose woofer into the S, I've seen pictures of them installed in many. Thanks for the input though.

Altho you can use the tiny amp on the bose sub and get it wired to run with the stock system, it is easier to just get a 100-200 watt amp with built in line sub crossover and line converter...can get an alpine m200 on ebay for 60-ish easily.

Reasons to do a separate amp are that you won't be happy with the bose performance otherwise, eliminates a "popping" tendancy the bose amp does when fiddled with, keeps the bose wiring intact in case you ever want to sell it.

You will need to run a dedicated power to the rear regardless, you stock hu does not have output rca jacks, so you have to tap signal from the speakers wiring harness and run wiring to the back also. Since you will have the hu out to do this, you will see how easily it is done and will probably want to upgrade your hu...and the upgrade path STARTS.

Have fun, the car is easy to work on
