MUTE??

Is it a bad idea to leave the radio muted for long periods of time? With limited controls on the left hand side, I find myself using the mute almost like an on/off button, and end up leaving it on for awhile sometimes.

I do the same thing - I don't know what harm it could do. It's handy and does it's job - enjoy it!

I'm not positive but I don't think it's any different than not having it muted. I think honda considered this in their design. When you mute using the dash control, it closes the circuit on the wire harness briefly and then opens it back up again. So regardlesss of whether it's muted or not, the circuit is open. And an LED lasts a lifetime so I doubt it will hurt any by keeping it muted 24/7
