It seems pretty easy. Can anyone tell me which wires go to what. I dont have a wiring diagram.

all the dash radio switches (except mute) work by grounding a single wire
in the radio harness through different resistors depending on which button(s)
are pushed. Thus you could certainly build a device that measures the
resistance and switches the cruise, but it's not as simple as assuming that
when you press a button it supplies +12v to a wire.
I believe the mute button does supply +12v when in the on position, though
Modifry seems to indicate it is not 0v when off.
