Is there any way to silent the OEM alarm when turning on and off. The horn honks get annoying expecially at night and first thing in the morning......

If not....I'm considering an aftermarket upgrade.

 

my car came with 2 remote controls, one that makes it beep and one that is silent. i have no idea if there's any way to manually program the unit to make it beep or not :/

 

I have an 05 with the OEM alarm, so it is likely the same as the 04.

To alternate between honk or no honk when arming the alarm, simply press down on the LOCK and TRUNK phobs at the same time for 2 seconds. That feature switches between honk and no honk mode. Good luck.

 

Or the LOCK and OPTION buttons for 2 seconds if your Honda OEM remote has those buttons and it should toggle between silent mode, and non-silent mode...mine even came with a little sticker on the back or the remote, stating those instructions.
