Default Aftermarket alarm co-exist with OEM alarm

Can aftermarket alarm co-exist with OEM alarm?

I am planning to install a Viper 5901 into my friends S2000 which came with OEM alarm. I have installed the same alarm into 3 different S2000 before with success, and none of them had OEM alarm from factory.

I assume the wiring is the same, but any tips would be great.

If the wiring is different, please let me know!

Should be an OEM alarm disarm wire on the 5901. With it hooked up, it will typically disarm the OEM alarm when doors are unlocked. You shouldn't really have an issue with the OEM alarm unless you're doing a remote start.

Do you guys unhook the OEM alarm with the aftermarket alarm install?

Sorry for all the questions, I did 4 Alarm installs on S2000 but this one is the only one with OEM alarm
