Hey guys, can someone recommend me a good Alpine Headunit that will work the the Modifry DCI unit for MY06? I am looking to spend up to $200 for a decent Alpine headunit to replace my stock headunit. The Modifry site has some units listed, but i am not a fan of the alpine listed for the 06. Thanks guys.

 

Do you have an iPod? If so, get a 9856 or 9857, if not, get whatever you want based on the features you want.

 

no i do not have an ipod, will the 9856 work? on the site it say it is not compatible with the 06, but i really like this unit

 

9856 works fine in an 06. You need the Modifry IR DCI, not the Wired DCI though. The 9857 adds the 3.5mm jack in the back so you can use the Wired DCI...

 

If you don't care about I-pod you might want to look at the alpine 9860 it list for a 100.00 more than the 9857 but will allow you to play dvd's of all kinds.You will be able to burn mp3's at 256kps (cd quality) and get around 500 songs on a disc , its like having a 4 gig I-pod with each disc.Plus you can play dvd's(with concert tracks) and DVD audio's.It will also will control alpines big signal processor.

 

For $199 or less the 9856 works great. I've had mine for about 2 months now. I also added an amp and new speakers. Makes a difference of day and night.

 

with the 9856, do you have a DCI that works?

 

I have the Modifry IR DCI.
