I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I purchased an OEM Acura DVD navigation system from a 2003 Acura CL on eBay. It came with the basics, the DVD unit that mounts in the trunk, a DVD, and the standard Acura/Honda Navigation screen. What I don't have is all the wiring to connect it all together. I can get the antenna from acuraautomotiveparts.org for about $100, but the wiring is a few harness pieces and will be around $400. I tried Alpine but they said go to Acura for parts. Yeah thanks a lot.

Apparently the Alpine part numbers don't correspond to a retail system and are for Acura/Honda only. I understand there are several connections like reverse wire and VSS wire that will differ between vehicles also.

So my question is this: can I get the wiring and connectors to connect this system together and make it work? Some wiring connection instructions would also be helpful. I noticed the system looks mighty similar to the JDM version, but I have no idea what part number the wiring is or even if you can purchase it separately.

Your only hope is to go to an acura dealer and get the part number. After you get the wiring done, you should be golden. Can I ask how much the acura navis go for these days (how much you paid for it?)

 

it depends upon a few variables, dvd or hard disk, timing on ebay, etc. i got lucky and the guy only listed the dvd drive but had the screen also and said i could have it for $75 before i even bid on it. i ended up paying $445 total with shipping for the screen and dvd unit. the antenna is about $100 new from acura. the navi parts i got list for something like $3000 on acuraautomotiveparts.org, even though it was only a $2000 option.

i was looking at $1000-$1600 for an aftermarket one, so i decided to go the cheap route (again). i realized the jdm s2000 navigation unit uses the same pieces, so i *should* be able to use that harness. all i need is the part number and a source. think hardtopguy would be able to help?

 

Ummm...unless he deals with acura parts, or the new accord navi is the same one, no.
