Default New Stereo no power

i took out the OEM stereo and put in a new Alpine. The wiring harness was easy enough but the stereo won't power up. when i put the old stereo back in i entered the code and it works. Do i have to do something with the anit theft wiring or could it be something else. i do not think the Alpine unit is bad, it is their high end model and it is brand new. Any thoughts? anyone?

you probable have your power and ignition source reversed of how they should be. I have an alpint HE and used a "go between" harness to plug n play

i used a go between harness and matched up the wired by function. the wire colors were dead on, only one i didn't use was a remote wire. Could the go between wire harness be bad?

FOUND IT... i called the harness place and they said to check the fuse on the fuse block. Turns out the factory stereo will still fire up with a blown fuse when the after market stuff won't. who knew. (>.<)
