Need advice
so i just got a CDA 7977 (thanks to JohnS2K) and i'm not sure what i want to do with the speakers. i'm not prepared to get subs and amp (due to $$) but i am willing to fork out the cash for some good coaxials or some kinda cheap components/amps.
but the problem is...i have zero car stereo experience :] i have no idea about wires, what to plug where, etc. (i know about brands and quality tho
anyways, the walkthroughs on lucid auto dont cover components, and im not sure if i want to trust some local store (i'm in los angeles) with the s2000s different audio set up...plus there r tons of bad stories of faulty wiring etc etc which just ends up being a pain in the ass. so basically, i have no idea how to install components/hook up an amp.
suggestions?

In your case, I would avoid hooking up an amp yourself. You're best bet would be to catch a meet or an S2000 owner near LA who's done this before - Ask them for assistance. I believe (correct me if wrong) that deck is preamp only no speaker outputs so it NEEDS an amp.
When you have an amp you have to run new wires to the doors - thats the most difficult part because its a tight area to work in.
If money is tight then get the amp you need to complete the job and add the speakers later.
An easy to install and inexpensive ($350 or so) amp would be the Rockford Fosgate Punch 500s. 62.5 RMS x 4. It has a small footprint and very easy to adjust the settings. I use and recommend this amp!
