Need advise on Amp
I just bought a JL Steath Box and I'm using a Rockford 400a4 to power my MB Quartz Mids & Tweets on the front channel and bridging the rear to the box. Amp is rated at 100 watts RMS per channel.
I purchased the new Kenwood 6 1/2s for the rear and planned to add to the front channel as well; however my amp is shutting down after :30 minutes of loud music. Obviously the amp is working pretty hard and it probably can not take the load of two extra speakers.
I'd like to keep my Rockford and add an additional amp. I think the Rockford could certainly handle the mids and highs and then get an amp exclusively for the sub.
I don't need the best amp money can buy. Just a solid performer that will bring out the best in the stealth box.
Please suggest amp and where to purchase.

you have to watch the load factors when you're wiring. A good amp can handle at least a 2 ohm load per channel. I'd say have a dedicated amp for the sub.
autotek, audiobahn, cadence, phoenix, alpine make fine amps look into those

Hey,
I have just added a Xtant amp to my S2000. I am really happy with the performance of it. It seem to also deal well with the heat of the small trunk.
Just my opinion but I think Xtant makes a really good product.

I decided to go with another Rockford, so now the new amp, 300 watts runs the stealthbox and the old 4 channel amp 400 watt runs the front mb mids and tweets and I just installed the 6-1/2" dual magnet Kenwoods in the rear panel. No problems now. I'm very satisfied with the set up, although a nice aftermarket head unit might allow greater flexibility.
