Default Need Car Alarm

I just got my car back with its replacement seats. I dont want to have the seats stolen again. So, seat locks and an aftermarket alarm are in order.

What brands of alarms and models do you all have and like? Any that I should stay away from? I went to a local electronics shop (who I like) and they do Compustar.

I can get the module, blinky light, backup siren, motion detector, and one way remotes for $545 installed.

Any thoughts on this? Good deal?

Thanks in advance for the input, I have never had to put an alarm on a car before. I am clueless about it.

Motion detector and a back-up battery are necessary IMO. I chose my Viper 5900 for its long 2-way range plus an installer who was conveniently located. Good thing because I went back twice for some tuning of the two-zone radar sensor to eliminate false alarms. I paid about a Benjamin more than your one-way quote.

I'm running a CompuSTAR PRO 8000FWS (think that's the model)

It's 2 way and I've got a proxy sensor, shock sensor, hood sensor and trunk sensor. Highly recommend it.
