Default Need expert/experienced help with speakers

So my set up is like this. Stock deck to LLC to Soundstream amp to crossover to Infinity Kappa component speakers (tweeter and mids). So today I was driving with the top down and the driver's side speakers made some crackly noise, then a noise that sounded like the speaker was blown "bluut" and they went out. But only the driver's side went out, passenger was fine. So it was another 10 mins until I got home. When I got home, I unloaded my trunk's worth of groceries and then thought I'd fiddle with the car to fix the stereo. But when I turned it on, the driver's side speakers were working again. Weird.

I had been driving for about 20 mins with the volume about half. This happened before when I first installed the speakers and amp, and I thought it was a loose connection, but it wasn't. It would go on and off by itself, but not rapidly. And I've heard the passenger and driver go on and off, but not at the same time.

So can anyone explaing why this is happening? Thanks.

Sounds like loose wiring/connections to me. Could be the LLC but I doubt it...

Yea sounds like a loose connection, wrong connection, or maybe one of the wires has a small short in it.

Loose connection is probably the culprit. I had a similar situation with a speaker grounding out a few months back, but that cause the entire HU to shut down.

Check your wiring and make sure all connections are solid.
