Default Need Help With Cdt 6.5 Speakers In Doors!

I recently bought the CDT 6.5 in. speakers and installed them. Turns out, the s2k uses a 6.25 inch 'euro' sides door speakers, so the true 6.5's are a tad to big. I mounted them anyway on the factory baskets with longer screws. Now there is a gap between the speaker and the door. My issue is, would this cause the speaker to perform poorly? I do notice that the speakers bottom out VERY easily when you turn the bass up. Im running an alpine head unit with a sony 75x2 amp. Anyone have this problem with the CDT speakers? Is there an aftermaket basket that will accomidate these speakers for the s2k? ANY help is appreciated. THANKS!

Make a bracket out of 3/4" MDF. Just use the stock backet and trace the outline. Cut the proper diameter hole and cut the outline of the basket. Put the stock basket in the hole so it lines up and trace the mounting hole. Drill the four holes and mount with screws and you are done.
