Default headlight issue

so one of my headlights went out last week and i figured it was the bulb so i ordered new ones from js2k.com. went to go change it out and this is what i find.

sorry for the bad iphone photo. but apparently the wires fell down and have been rubbing on the tire. i tried fixing it up and then the headlight would flicker on that one side. also for the duration of the flickering, the high beam bulbs would turn on but be dim.

here is a video of it

i have gone through to splice and solder the wires back together and check voltage and continuity, but the lights are still flickering. and i can't figure out why the high beam bulbs are coming on during the time the light is flickering. one it stops flickering the high beam bulbs will turn off. high beam light on the passenger side wont turn on when i turn on the high beams.

could it be the ballast? i havent' tried swapping sides of the ballast yet.

this kind of happened to me, and i found it was a bad ballast, my issue was a little different

you should at least take off the ballast on the headlight with the issue, and it may be so jacked up that you can tell it's bad.

If its a flickering hid, you likely have water in the ballast, bridging the printed circuit.

Take the cover off the ballast and blow it out with air. It will be fine.

Water is entering through the braided wire cover. Pull the braid back and seal the wires with silicone.

its a security torx.

vise grips, or pliers will turn it.
