Default Need help picking a head unit and speakers

I am a complete noob when it comes to audio electronics so I figure I ask for your opinion. I would like to upgrade my headunit and front speakers. I am looking to spend about $400. After doing a quick research this is what I came up with. Will the below speakers fit or will I need some sort of an adapter, spacers, or harness?

HEADUNIT
-Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X997 - $230

-Pioneer DEH X9500BHS - $185

COMPONENT SPEAKERS
-Polk Audio DB6501 - $117
OR
-Polk Audio MM6501 - $235 (Worth upgrading to this?)

-Infinity Kappa 60.9cs - $130
OR
-Infinity Kappa 60.11cs- $205 (Worth upgrading to this?)

-Alpine SPR-60C - $149

-JBL MS-62C - $169

If you think I can get more bang for my buck, please feel free to make some suggestions. Thanks in advance

Would help to know why you narrowed it down to these options. Have you listened to any of the speakers or are you just relying on what you've read?

Just relying on what I read and my budget constraints.

Can't go wrong with Kenwood Echelon X997 which has it all. Alpine CDE 185BT matches the color variability and has better display but lack dual USB. The Kenwood has a few more options but both are comparable. Don't forget to get the Modifry DCI.

So I think I am going to go with Focals. I was thinking about getting the Intergration line (IS165), but do you guys think the Access line (165A1) is worth upgrading to?

Integration (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846)

Access (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846)

As for the head unit, I was thinking about getting the Kenwood KDC-BT955HD. Is the Kenwood eXcelon KDC997 really worth $65 more dollars for 6 more equalizer options? I believe that's the only difference between the two.
