Default Need Help, Random Problem, lost HU Power & Dome

So let me start by saying I'm a total Audio noob. This is probably an easy problem to fix, well hopefully. So I bought my second S about a year ago, and it had a passport quick on/off controller thing wired into the dash. It was mounted under the steering wheel by Velcro. The detector wiring went up the driver side pillar and ended in the middle of the dash. Here's a pic:

Well I was sick of it being under my steering wheel since I have no plans of getting a passport radar detector. I gently pulled it and heard a snap. So the wire snapped and here's some pics of it:

Well after driving today/tonight I've discovered that after pulling the wire my Head Unit and Interior Dome light won't work now. When I turn my headlights on the Head Unit lights up, I could eject a C.d., and when I pressed eject when the C.d. was out I could hear the head unit working. It just won't turn on, play a c.d or Radio.

So next thing, I've been planning on installing these custom speaker panels behind the seats, bought them used on the boards.

I want to upgrade my door speakers as well at the same time, any suggestions on what to get? Should I stick with Polk? I plan on just sticking with my 2004 ap2 stock headunit. And don't I have to get some kind of harness (I think "Modifry") to keep the function of the side controls next to the steering wheel?

Any help/suggestions on my dead radio/dome light and install of my new speakers is greatly appreciated .

You've likely blown one of the two fuses for the headunit in the underdash
fusebox - in an AP1 they are #9 and #22, but I don't know about an AP2.
However, the reason it blew is that there is a live wire floating around in or
under your dash formerly attached to the wire with the red stripe in your
photo. If you don't find that wire and either remove it or tape off the
exposed part, you'll likely just blow the fuse again.

Appreciate the response . I'm going to look into that, and hope it's that easy of a fix. The weird thing is, I noticed this morning that the Dome light still works when I open the door to my car. It just won't work when I manually try to turn it on with the doors closed?

The dome light is wired so it always has +12v - the switch leads to ground.
There are two possible paths to ground - when the switch is in the ON
position, it goes one way, when in the DOORS position it goes through
the door switches. Your switch may be bad, or the ground wire leading
from the ON position in the switch may be bad/disconnected.
I'd try to find out where the two wires you yanked out connected to, and
look for stray wires that either need to be removed or reconnected.
