Need help splicing into power ...
Electronics Guru's -
I have aquired two old video conferencing webcams. On the back, they have plugs for component video (single yellow RCA plug), and power (+12VDC, +tip).
I want to mount these somewhere on the car (like in the grill for example), and then splice into power somewhere. The video cable would be run back into the cabin where it would be an input to my camera.
I just need some help finding a spot to get power!
Any help greatly appreciated,
Relson

If you are mounting one in the grill, the obvious and most convienent place to get power would be directly off the battery. Use a 1/4" Crimp Lug to mount onto the battery clamp(s). Be sure to use an in-line fuse on the Positive Lead.
For a mount by the aeroscreen, the closest place would be the Accessory Socket lead.
