Default Need some help

hey guys i have a JL audio 500/1 and a Jl Audio 12inch W3 version 1 sub. My deck is a pioneer but i don't know which model. It's a cheap one a 45w x4. I just got done hook it up and it's not hitting hard at all. Is it because of my cd deck? I need help adjusting the stuff in back of the amp , it's my first time. thank's for the help

It's not hard at all really. Only non-common tool you will need is a multi-meter which can be purchase for ~$20. This is WAYYY less than a shop will charge you to tune your setup. That and if you do it yourself you can gain some new knowledge

Don't be scared because the steps are long, some of them are simply unplugging a wire. I can tune an amp in a matter of just a few minutes.

btw, JL has the gain setting info on their website, including the exact
output voltage you're trying to set to for that amp:
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/gainSetting.pdf
you do need to know the impedance of your sub, which if you don't
already know it you can use the ohm feature of your new multimeter to
find out.
