Default New 2005 Alpine Headunits

Does anyone know when these will come out? I am waiting on the new models to see if better support for the Ipod interface will be implemented.

Damn! And I just checked this thread to see if they came out -- for the exact same reason too.

THe alpine units in Crutchfield are still the 2004 models, same ones listed on ALpine-usa's website. I dont think the 2005 models are out yet, but i am very interested in seeing if they come out with a new updated version of the 9835 with full color display. If so, looks like I will be selling my new 9835 for a full color. This of course is just speculation on my part.

Actually I might be selling it soon, if I can verify that the Pioneer 8600 will fit in my car. I will keep you posted.

Alpine normally has released their around April. So Apirl 05 their 05s should be out. They (and all other electronics manufactures) use the Holiday season to move their products.

the new 05 models will actually have an " ipod" label on their H/U's vs the current label of " CD changer". Thats about the only major new change in regards to the ipod. Otherwise the controls will remain the same for the most part. I have heard that they are working on making the browse feature a little bit more user friendly. But you know how that goes. I could be wrong since this is all heresay at this point.

To add to the hearsay, I heard from an Alpine executive that some 05 models should support secondary controls (such as our dash buttons) like they do in Europe.
