Please keep us up to date on this unit lightning, i'll keep my fingers crossed that it fits. A couple problems i'm thinking this unit could cause are damaging the unit upon shifting to 1st, 3rd, & 5th. Looking at how this unit works if it fits in the S2000 it seems as if its gonna be very close to your hand when shifting(if your not careful you may hit the unit when shifting). Also you will no longer be able to close the radio door for a stealth look in the cabin(not a problem with me as my radio door is always open, but may be an issue for others).

Off Topic:
Does anyone know if the F1 7990 unit fits in the S2000(anyone got pics).

i'm not worried about it fitting front to back - there should be clearance - i'm more concerned vertically - that extra faceplate space will come extremely close to lap vents, if it will clear them at all - THAT'S the clearance problems i'm concerned with, NOT the interference with the shifter. i measured it, and according to alpine's specs, it can't get much closer. i'll know when it arrives, cause i'm gonna try it.
