Default New Box

I am going to be building a box for my W7. I am most likely going to use fiberglass for the box

The sub unported requires 1.2 cu/ft and ported requires 1.5cu/ft.

I want to get as much as much spl out of the sub that I can since it is only going to be one 10". I was considering porting the box.

Any ideas?

why would fiberglass be no good? The sub would crack it? Or just not good for sound?

it'll crack... but if you went with an 8'' you'll be fine... if your going to do the 10 I strongly suggest at leassstt 8-10 layers of fiberglass matt , followed by a layer or 2 of Rage gold (stonger bondo)

I was only planning on fiberglass so I could get the most space possible out of the tool area in the trunk.

Would I just be better off using MDF? If so what thickness?

12w7 > 10w7 . i made the box myself.

its a little less than 1/4 in. thick fiberglass, and double baffeled 3/4 mdf.

only problem is the lack of trunk space.

by double baffle he means that there's 2 peices of 3/4'' MDF put together to make the front - the part the sub is screwed to.
