12w7 > 10w7 . i made the box myself.

its a little less than 1/4 in. thick fiberglass, and double baffeled 3/4 mdf.

only problem is the lack of trunk space.
very nice setup.. any pictures of the install?

if you are adding amps and subwoofers.... another 45 lbs just isnt that much, jog around the block a few times, be a much healthier weight saver.

I have ran 1000 Wrms to subs in fiberglass enclosures (2 layer mat, 1 layer of cloth) and never cracked an enclosure. Currently running 500 watts to an Alpine SWR1022 and have not had any problems over the past 3 years.

Granted that if you are building an enclosure big enough to replace the back seat of your Nissan Sentra - it will need to be much thicker.

In my trunkwell enclosures I always use a double layer of MDF on the face.

I run 3 miles a day in 120+ heat, and I weigh about 140lbs.

I am really unsure if I am going to build an MDF box or a fiberglass. I might start with the MDF and build a fiberglass when I have extra time.

If I build it with MDF should I use 2 3/4" pieces for the face?
