Default New Dension IceLink

A brief recap for those just tuning in:

In Feb 2005, I purchased a Dension IceLink from BestBuy.

Initial impressions and install photos are here:

After 7 months, the unit started behaving erratically and a week or two later, completely quit.
DensionUSA played a mighty game of phone tag, but after 2 months, I managed to get ahold of someone live on the phone who told me to send an email to support for an RMA, since the unit will need to be replaced.

Two more months pass with support stalling and simply refusing to issue an RMA or an address where I can return the unit. I finally call them up again in January and although the same person answers, they say they are not "DensionUSA" any longer. No warranty support is possible. I need to contact Dension (the parent company) in Europe to see if I can get the issue resolved.

Two emails to Dension, and they offer to replace my unit. Well, today I get an overseas express package from FedEx and inside is a new Dension IceLink Plus w/Video.

Inside is a redesigned Icelink that's in a plastic housing instead of shrinktube. A new firmware that is way faster than the old one. Oh, and it also pumps out video from a video iPod via a composite video connector to an external monitor (though I am not using this). Included in the box is a redesigned mount that accepts all sizes of iPods (aside from the shuffle) and the new mounting holes fit the Panavise perfectly.

The only drawback is that the no longer sell them in the US.

for Dension support,
for Dension USA.

Dension does not even want me to ship the old unit back - they just told me to break it and email them a photo of the destroyed unit as proof.
