Default New door speakers

Well im wanting to buy new speakers for my S ( alpine type R) and i was wondering if the Compnents will fit because they go in 3 inches. What i was thinking that it might hit the window im not sure does anyone have these on their car? and if you do how do they sound. I figure these will carry a better bass line then the 2 in 1 type r since the tweeter is seperate. Can anyone help me on this?

The should fit. You might have to trim the speaker basket a bit for depth clearance, but no big deal. Check the FAQ for a how to on this. If they do not fit, its just a matter of ripping a little speaker baffle with a router / jig saw. Not too hard.

As far as it being a component system, the real advantage is the ability to raise the sound stage. Doesnt have a whole lot to do with how well the bass response is. I would imagine it would help it a bit because there would not be a tweeter sitting on the woofer cone.....I would think Alpine would take this into account when designing them, though.

I work in a local shop here in spokane we do all kinds of stuff including audio. I went to a panasonic head unit, Bost SL65 (wow), and boston G5 10" sub in a ported pre-fab box with an orion 8004 (4 channel) amp, good stinger power wire, it sounds great loud clear and oh my god crisp
