Default New Head Unit advice

I’m looking for a new stereo for my S. My commute has increased significantly, so a bluetooth and ipod compatible HU with sat radio capability would be really nice. Also, I have a blackberry Storm with internet radio aps that I would like to listen to via bluetooth audio. After doing some research, I think a Sony MEXBT-3700 or 5700 would suit my needs. I don’t plan on building the system up with better speakers or amps, so I’m willing to sacrifice some ultimate sound quality for features and value for money. The only other model that seems to come close to the sony is the Pioneer 610 and 710. However, I don’t like the ergonomics on them compared to the Sony (I played around with some of the lower end models at the store).
Does anyone have any of these stereos? Are their any other models out there with similar capabilities? I’ve heard good things about Alpine, but I’d rather not pay lots of money for adapters to get the features the Sony and Pioneer come with as standard. I’ve heard not so good things about Sony’s built in BT mic on their older systems, but I’ve read good reviews about the mic sound quality on the current systems.
I’ve never installed an aftermarket system. How difficult is it? Has anyone used one of these systems with the Modifry DCI? If so, with what results?
Thanks in advance for the information. I did a search, and I could not find anything directly on these systems, but I apologize if this has been covered on an existing thread.

There's definitely an AP2 head unit thread and I'm guessing that there must be threads for the AP1 as well (though the process is the same except that you don't have to remove the AP1's console, IIRC).

You'll need to do some wiring/soldering to get the S's harness connected to your head unit (along with the DCI).

Can't really comment on head unit selection as I chose an Alpine so I could use Modifry's PnP harness and didn't need Bluetooth (I just don't make or receive calls in the S) or satellite radio.
