New idea for Audio Control Button
What's up with the Audio Control button?

Is it just me or does this look like it should be a rotary knob or something, too?
Anyway, here's my idea. Replace the down/up pushbutton of the stock Audio Control with THIS!
http://www.chproducts.com/oem/products/switchst.html

It is a "Hat" switch, similar to the ones on popular gaming joysticks. Basically, it's a 2,4, or 8-way switch that gives a different signal based on the direction you push it. This way, you can use a 2, 4, or 8-way movement to control Fast Forward, Rewind, Seek +, Seek -, or whatever you want. With a little customization of PINKY's mod, this should be possible. Whatdya think?
And you can put the OEM button on top of the switch so the controls still look stock!
It may be a while before I can work on this, so if anyone else wants to do it first, feel free...

DJ,
You may find it cheaper to rip one of these out of a cheap joystick, like those found at Office Depot and the like. Also, you may have to rework the resistances of the stock panel to more evenly distibute the new resistances across the current range.
Doable, for sure, but it will take some time, mostly to mount the switch, if anything.

Check out this thread.
Bassman has done this with his Sony joystick.
