Default New Stereo Ordered (amp recommendation needed)

Just ordered my Rio Car (Empeg) 10GB in dash mp3 player. It doesnt have any internal amplification, so I need a recommendation on a decent 2-channel amp.

Has anyone done the PAC programming for the Empeg?

Are you planning to upgrade your speakers also? If not, a Zapco Studio 100 will do fine. It's rated 2 x 50watts @ 4 ohms but should be able to give you more. You can get them for ~$150. If you want to upgrade your speakers, consider something with 2 X 100watts rms. PM me if you want more details.

So you went from 2 channel to 4 channel amps in the last 5 hours? If you want 4 channels, you may want to consider a Soundstream. They are rated at 4x25watts rms but should be able to give you almost 4x50watts rms. Check the information on this link: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/007-caraudio/s...nstreamru5.html I've not done business with this site, therefore do not consider this an endorsement

jmelectronics advertise it for $144.99. I am not sure if they have it in stock though. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/jtmelectronics...ostudio100.html If the Studio 100 is out of stock, lots of place carry the Zapco Ag150 for ~ 180.

Everyone seems to jump with glee for the 4 channel Alpine v12. Perhaps it would be worth checking out. That amplifier is probably "enough" to get the job done.

If you are planning to install a mondo system, you'll want to put a lot more thought into your amplifier selection.
