Default New System

Hey all! I am going to dive into a new sound system for my S2000.

Above all I want some kick A$$ bass. I tend to listen to rap and country(don't make fun of me) when I drive.

Suggestions and prices would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like an Alpine head-unit with an aux connection(MP3)

You may be able to start with just a HU, sub and amp, but consider upgrading your front component speakers as well if you have the budget. In that case, you could get a powerful 4 channel amp, running the front two channels to the components, and bridge the rear channels to drive the sub. Fitting one 4 channel amp is going to be easier than a 2 channel amp + a mono sub amp, though the latter will give you more flexibility and the potential for more headroom and volume, if you need it.

Give us some idea of what trunk space you are willing to sacrifice, and we can provide you some suggestions. The most common locations for a sub are in the toolwell area or one of the corners of the trunk, with the easiest concealed amp location is on a board in place of the spare tire. If you're not willing to remove the spare, a more "custom" approach is required.

I am willing to remove the spare.

I also would like to place the sub in the toolwell are.

I also understand that "custom"=expensive. I'd like to stray from that mindset. Just the basics to get awesome bass, and be able to hear it above an Invidia w/testpipe.

JL w7 10 - JL 500/1 or the new JL 250/1v2 - then Alpine Type R componets up front , JL 300/2v2 amp to run the fronts , alpine CDA-9857 for a head unit , JL power and RCA wires. You'll be happy.

How much would I be looking at price wise? I know the W7 isn't a cheap sub by any means.

10 w7 around 500
500 / 1 - 500
alpine radio - 250
ipod cable?? - 30 bux - high speed
alpine speakers - 170 (ebay 130)
300/2v2 - 300
wiring harness - 15
RCA's - JL - 46 (for 2)
Power wire
JL 0gauge - 190
or JL 4 gauge - 100 , + Kinetic Battery - 170
hope that helps!

I think I am just going to tackle the sub first. I'm planning on supercharging and need to save a little for that.

Any more ideas?

I definitely want to go with the W7. I had a friend with one and it rocked my world.

I want to keep the price around 1,200.
