All this help is greatly appreciated!

I have 2 months in Iraq to go. Have to make my decision before October.

What if I went with the 12" route.

I am guessing that the same subs would still be an excellent choice. Which 12" is going to beat harder? What would be the price for the sub and a compatible amp?

Thanks a ton
David

i have a 13'' W3v3 and that gives me plenty of bass, in my opinion the JLw7's are waaayyyy overrated and are especially unnecessary in such a small car...having my 13'' w3 saves me plenty of weight too (especially since my box is custom made out of CF). I'd say check out the 3 series subs before you buy a w7...just my .02

i'll counter him with the 13 isn't designed for what he was using it for :-) the 12 will actually beat out the 13 which is retarded but the 13 was designed for a transmision line box , not a custom one or even pre-fabbed. W3v3's are great. New style great new look , but the w6 is double the power with a better steal stamped basket which creates better voice coil cooling as well as a bigger magnit to drive that voice coil.

lol... well it's basically a huuggee box , kinda the same design that they use inside most home speakers... most notable Martin Logan (high end home audio) It basically has a longer dimension can look like a triangle sometimes and basically it feeds sounds by pressure through the port , raither than most ported boxes which release sound through the port... hard to explain without a picture.

for some reason i have a hard time believing that JL designed a sub to fit specifically one type of box (that seems very uncommon in the car audio world) ...I'll admit the way i designed my box wanst the all around "best" possible solution, but i did it for a temporary fix so that i could maybe upgrade down the road to a deeper sub...but my 13'' w3 is pretty much like having 2 12s in the trunk and i'm finding out that it's plenty of bass for me...cant even imagine having a 13'' w6 in my trunk! what was i thinking!

Hmm.... I want to spend about 1,500 total cost just for the Subs, head unit, amp, and wiring.

If I went with the 12" how much space in the trunk am I going to sacrafice?

Let me know what you guys think.
