Newb, what are these unconnected wires?

Default Newb, what are these unconnected wires?

runs from trunk to behind driver side seat, black, two female connectors, looks factory? could be wrong tho (just bought my first s2k last week )

cant really tell from the picture but maybe wires for the rear window defrost.

The Defrost wires go into a grey plug that is much larger if I remember correctly.

Makes me wonder if the prev owner had speakers in the roll hoops.

that would be my next guess but why are those wires so far back if its going to the roll hoops?

I'll look at my car when I get home.

ok see I look at my defrost wires and its at the same location but different connector/end.
So Im thinking maybe the previous owner had a hardtop and maybe the wires were modified to accommodate the defrost on the HT. maybe
anyone else have any thoughts?

That could be if it was a non-OEM HT.

Could be for the neon's?

thanks for the replies and thoughts, I tried following them but as soon as they enter the trunk area theyre lost, I don't see them without pulling apart all the paneling in the back, I couldn't find anything they would attach too... however I do strongly hope they were not for neons *smashhead*

All that matters is that the neons aren't there now!

Definitely not OEM wires, so I wouldn't worry about them not being hooked up.

they look exactly like speaker wires for ones that you would put in the roll hoops with an aftermarket setup. how do i know that? its how i ran my wires
