Okay kids, here's where I'm at on my audio project. I have a Image Dynamics IDMAX 10" subwoofer (the 2ohm version), that can handle 1000watts RMS, 1800 peak. I've also purchased Marks S-Pods.

To fill my front speakers and S-Pods I bought a Focal Utopia 165w for the front, and Focal Utopia 136w for the S-Pods. I may have to custom work the S-Pods to get the Utopias to fit, but I haven't really had a chance to look at them yet.

Yes, it's overkill. Yes, I'm crazy and potentially friviously wasting my money. Now that I got your obvious thoughts and comments out of the way, I need recommendations for amplifiers.

The 165ws handle 100wrms, 200peak, and the 136ws handle 70wrms, 140peak.

I'm looking for a good performing amplifier that also isn't an eye-sore. Any recommendations would be appreciated, as I would say amplifiers are my weakest knowledge in car electronics.

You mean a good performing amp that isnt an eyesore right???

Now for amps......You did it all big, now finish it all big.

Soundstream TR500-4
and
Soundstream TR1760-D (if your sub is single coil)
Soundstream TR880-2 (if your sub is DVC)

Or, just be total big boy, and be the "god" of the electronics section.

($859.00 at www.millionbuy.com)
Which is a bargain....usually goes for 1500, and retails for over 3000!

You will bar none have the best system on this forum. No one here even comes close to the sound capability. Good luck!!!

I'll check out the SoundStream. Thanks for the input.

I would go with the new JL 450/4 amp to power both sets of Utopias. 150 x 2 for the fronts and 75 x 2 for the rears. I bought this amp because I plan on having the same Utopia setup that you are planning. Can't wait to get it up and running.

I would look at the JL 1000/1 to power the sub.

There are a ton of options out ther Xtant and Soundstream also make some real nice performing equipment, and I'm sure others will also have an opinion for you to ponder. However, I think the JL 450/4 is perfect for the Utopia's.

I know the Xtant does and would assume the Soundstream does but, I'm not sure.

The JL does not though, correct?

It's not going to make my decision, just curious.

All mid-good quality amps have a silent on/off anti "pop" technologies in them. To be perfectly honest.....I think the Davinci is the best for this application for a number of reasons....

Install would be great. It is almost as if the amp designed for the s2k. Its not big, as it is very deep. The toolwell is perfect for this amp, as the top can sit flush with the floor....making it look like a seamless install. Also, with all those speakers......you are looking at about 1000+ dollars in amps (JL or tarantula)
WIth this amp, you can power all your component speakers, and sub, and not worry about complex wiring....etc.....

The quality of this amp is second to none. It has very good cooling systems as well as very high quality circuitry. Do some research on this amp, as I am sure you will find it very appealing. XTANT is not good enough to command that kind of money.
They produce only moderate power....(amps the size of the entire trunk only put out 800rms) Mid end......go JL, Phoenix GOld....High end.....Soundstream all the way.

The Davinci is a ridiculous amp. It is beautiful and has a reputation to match. You will be the envy of many audio enthusiasts. IMO it is too nice to put into a sportscar like the S2k, but at that price, who cares?!

Just make sure it is a legitamate deal and that the amp's guts aren't refurbed crap. Get a warranty!
