Default nice head unit

2007 speaker count = 8

2 door tweeters
4 headrest tweeters (2 each headrest)

2 midrange door speakers

the OEM head unit runs all 8... is there an after market that can do the same?

Funny post. Dont listen to car makers when they say "An 11 speaker stereo."

To people in the know....a speaker constitutes a complete set of ranges. So, a mid AND a tweeter constitutes ONE speaker.

The 2007 s2000 has 4 speakers. One in each door (tweeter+woofer) and one behind each seat.

The tweeter/woofer combo runs off one channel.

Hey listen, Im always a fan of smarts. If someone will believe it, then they did a good job. IMHO, the best marketing team in the world works for Bose.

The pron industry is certainly the most creative at coming up with names though.

I'd say Bose is up there, but the best is Microsoft in my opinion.

They even come up with creative titles for my spam email.

I'm going to vote for the arses at Monster Cable for original and devious marketing. I don't think they have any specs on their packaging; Just marketing charts.

are you sure? if i replace all of those "speakers" with an aftermarket, 4 channels will be enough to run them all? are there any crossovers involved in the oem setup?

Primitive ones, but yes.

The factory stereo only has 4 sets of outputs, and the wiring harness that plugs into it has 4 sets of wires, 1 for each door, and one for each side in the rear.

So... any aftermarket head unit with 4 outputs (pretty much all of them)will work.
