Default No "Code"

Taking a long ride tomorrow and though I'd reactivate the radio after battery replacement.

"Code" prompt DOES not appear, entering 5 dig code does not have any effect.

Since I haven't turned on the radio in years, I guess it could be a fuse, if that's the case I'll need some guidance on opening the fuse box without breaking nanything

Thanks for your help

Changed a good fuse for a new one.

Radio lights go on with the int lights but the LCD display is dark and blank. Entered the code anyway with no result.

Ideas? Thanks

Does your convenience socket ("cigarette lighter") work?

Don't have a device to test for juice, but I assume you're suggesting replacing the 10a fuse?

Just making sure before I put the old bod thru more painful garage yoga.

( not important, but for laughs can somebody tell me why the manual suggests you "turn the knob" to open the fuse box? It does nothing as far as I can tell)

How are you getting to the fuse box on the driver's side? The panel hiding the fuse box is secured by a twist knob (maybe two). See the illustration on page 186 of your 2006 owners manual.

Chuck- I turned the Knob and it does nothing and realease nothing.

Got to the FB thru painful contortions basically standing on my head in the footwell. Just under 6 ft and 200 lbs, a little thick but not much bigger than average.

Maybe the sick designer that came up with the secret compartment did the "knob" too

I went under the "panel" because it wouldn't come loose an dI didn't want to force/break anything

I think ya have to twist and then pull both knobs off to remove the panel below the steering wheel. They may unscrew. You're better at "dashboard yoga" than I.

Sounds like you fixed the problem. I fully understand not using the radio. I forget it's there.

I believe there's one on both sides of the steering wheel securing the modesty panel below the steering column area of the dash. I'm not where I can get to the car right now.
