Nonfactory Head Unit

What, the Kenwood doesn't have the screw holes fro the side brackets? Should'a bought a Sony.
I'm assuming the kenwood came with a DIN bracket. Does it have bend out bits that match the four screw holes?

that's the thing aus...i had this unit in my wife's maxima....it used the stock brackets on the max. I've had the radio for over a year and a half and can't remember if it came with brackets/or where they are for that matter. but when i try to match up the stook's bracket it doesn't quite fit..i'll try to post some pics tomorrow if i still can't get it to work. First i'll try to contact Kenwood in the morning. Oh, and i can't stand Sony Head Unit's for some reason....much rather their home audio/video.

Plenty of others have installed Kenwood so it's not going to be a problem once you have the brackets or whatever. Pinky will know.
Funny about the Kenwood/Sony thing. I used to have a Kenwood system in my BMW, but this time went Sony. Conversely, all my home entertainment system is Kenwood (DVD, Rec/AMP, CD, Subwoofer).
TV's a Sony though

on my sony, I had to bend the little tab that sticks out the front on the stock brackets where the little post is sticking in towards the radio. Once I did that, it fit like a charm. Maybe yours is the same problem since you said it doesn't quite fit.

thanks almili and aus...today i came home and decided to take a second look at the brackets. Sure enough i took a pair of vise-grips and flattened the depressions in stock bracket that "flush" up to the side of the stock radio. With these out of the way i proceded to use four of the stock speaker screws left over to screw the brackets into the side of the kenwood unit. And, Voila!!!! it worked like a charm.
Peace all
