i just got my s2k and love it. My old car was a 03 wrx and I had a really nice double din touch screen stereo in it. I kept the stereo when I sold the car. I was wondering if anyone has put a double din stereo in the factory location it looks like the room would be there but i think it would need some sort of install kit. If anyone has done this or seen it done let me know. otherwise i will just have to sell my headunit and buy something else and i dont want to if i dont have to.

 

Sorry but i wont fit there. You can however buy "if" your capable of cutting your dashboard. Theres a GB somewhere here for the DD dash trim(note* this is only the trim, meaning you would need to make some sort of bracket to hold the weight of your DD unit).

One more thing, the trim is made to angle the stereo towards the pass side.

 

Yeah I tried my best to fit a double DIN CD player there....and no....it wont fit in the stock location. Im cutting my dash to mount my screen and if you dont like the orientation of the JDM bezel, you can have an audio shop (check references first) mold in with polyglass or vinyl. well damn i guess off to ebay it goes. im not cutting the dash and i do love the clean look of the cover over the stereo. is there any aftermarket stereos that you can install that you can still use your dash mounted audio controlls?

 

Most of them...do a search for modifry DCI.

 

I was completely against cutting the dash at first...but....a trip through the gallery changed my mind. May wanna check it out, you might like what you see.
