In dash DVD/nav
My girlfriend just bought me the Kenwood KVT-512 flip out in dash nav for the S.
Now crutchfield says it will fit, but some guy at bestbuy says it wont, and I also saw someone selling a similar model Kenwood because they did not want to cut the dash on their S.
does anyone know if this will fit?

Man I hate to be the one to tell you, but I think I asked about the same HU on here a few months ago.
No I don't think it will fit. When you go to open the screen it will make contact with the shifter and therefore not be able to open.....
Don't sell it just yet, I mean wait and someone will post a definite answer for you on here soon.

As 1st07inOH said the screen will not open up properly. Although the headunit can be installed the shifter and the dash/vents above will interfere with the operation of the screen.
If possible, return for nice Kenwood headunit and buy a portable GPS if you still want that option.
JVC also makes a very pricey indash single din GPS headunit that does not have the screen like yours. Smaller screen though.

After some further research I confirmed what you guys are saying. I didn't know the shifter interfered also, that sucks!
I saw that JVC unit, it's actually cheaper then the Kenwood! Ill try to convince her to buy me that one
oh, and Honda, please redesign the replacement S to fit flip outs!!!

Its not just the shifter... the dash is also in the way. It can't flip up because of the vents and the section of the dash that extends over the radio.
But also keep in mind cars design was more inline with being a track car and not a nice setup for a sound system beside its a convert... pretty much the worst setup possible for a nice car audio setup. Although I must say I have mine tuned so loud I had to wear earplugs to do it, and it can drown out the engine noise and my comptech exhaust system
