Default Odyssey battery model number for S2000?

I had an Optima yellow top, D51R battery. It was a perfect fit in my MY2000. However it wasn't worth a crap and died within 18 months.

I'm now looking to replace it with an Odyssey. Anyone out there using one and can you give me the model number you're using?
Thanks

Just get the "Group 51" series.

As a side note ------------
I'm just wondering why some people feel they must get a "special, niche" market battery like the Optima or an Odyssey? Unless you've got special power requirements on your car, why not just get a "run of the mill" battery like Interstate or Sears Diehard for a fraction of the cost and will last proportionally longer than the more expensive batteries.

Run of the mill leak and eat up stuff under the hood. Last Diehard I had ate the battery tray in an Accord!

If leaking batteries aren't bothersome to you though, you can go to Walmart and buy their 2 year guarantee battery for ~$45. Likely way cheaper than a Diehard and the terminals are reversed as needed too.
I've never had a DieHard leak and I've used plenty of them in the past 35 years. I think you can get a bad example of any product line. However, I can truly understand how one BAD incident can taint your impression of a product forever. To this day, I still will not use Quaker State oils or Shell gas.

The auto batteries that Walmart sell here are actually EverReady and aren't that cheap, either. Nevertheless, I do make a distinction between "cheap", "inexpensive" and "overly priced". I buy batteries based on CCAs, number of years rated. There is a threshold price, below which, it will not be "proportionally" cost effective. For example, the cheapest, crudiest, lowest rated battery will cost X dollars, rated for Y years. A more reasonably priced battery will last disproportionately longer dollar for dollar. However, an outrageously priced battery won't generally hold up under the same comparison.

I know. I'm a glutton for punishment. Every once in a while, I have high hopes of uncovering some intelligence in people. It was worth a shot. Oh well.

I have had excellent experience with Optima batteries here in the AZ heat - not so good with other brands.

Which Optima are you using now, red or yellow? I believe that they have discontinued the yellow in the size that fits the S2000.

Actually my 2002 OEM battery is still chugging along. I think you are correct about the discontinued yellow top though.
