Whats going on.I have a problem with my oem 03 cd player.It will play a song and cut out and not play it again.If you turn it off and then back on,sometimes it will replay the cd.It isn't throwing any codes,and it does this for both burned and store bought cds'.You can say it doesn't discriminate,lol.Sometimes it will play 4 or 5 songs and cut out.It is very frustrating.The radio plays the same 20 songs in rotation,over and over.The car only has 56k.I don't want to get an aftermarket one,because i like the controls on the dash.I really don't want to pull it out and get another oem one either.I'm sure someone else has had this problem.Any help would be great.Thanks

I wouldn't even call it that.Basically it is playing and then it stops.Sometimes it will seem like it is skipping.but that only happens for 2 seconds and then it won't play.Do you think a cd cleaner or something like that will cause it to work normally??

cd cleaner wouldn't hurt, it would help if you were more detailed

a song on the cd player is playing, and then the sound just stops coming out, or the radio itself freezes up, or it just can't read the CD and tries to eject it?

 

It does eject the cd sometimes.But that doesn't happen often.Some radios show the minutes and seconds of the track on the screen.I don't think ours does that.It is kind of hard to explain,lol.sometimes you have to hit the fast foward button[im tired long day at work] and it will play.It hasn't throw any codes yet.There is something put with the laser,if you ask me.

 

does the radio always work? its just the cd playing function that is sometimes jacked up? i would go ahead and get one of those little discs or whatever with the brushes to clean the lens

 

Yes,the radio works 100% of the time........I was thinking the same thing.I'm trying to stay oem with the radio and the speakers.It sounds good enough for me.
