plan to help legal bill today and i found what i think is the harness that connects to the back of the oem head unit - please tell me that the harness that connects to the oem head unit is male and the head unit it self is female

maybe too late to help you, but...
male/female is a little tough to address - the back of the headunit
has an indentation where the harness plugs in, but the actual pins
themselves are on the headunit side, and slide into the harness.
this is what the harness that plugs into the back of the OEM headunit
