does anyone know how to disable the locking system that
disable the soft top button unless the hand brake is pulled
up?
I would like to be able to open or close the top while
driving slowly(<20mph).
Thankyou!

May not be possible. There's also a prevent control if your moving. I think the emergency brake has a switch also. That could be hard wired. Doesn't sound like a good idea though. Make a hell of an air brake.

It is possible... but I don't recommend driving too fast while doing it. If anything... max speed should be less than 5. But what you can do is... click up the E-brake one notch and the top will be able to drop down. I have done it while in very heavy traffic... talk about catching everyone's attention!

All you'd have to do is get to the ground switch at the e-brake under the center console cover.

Trace that single pin connector from the ebrake to the harness for the soft top lock.

Splice in a two wire toggle switch...one side to ground, the other side to that wire that reads the ground allowing the top to go up and your done.

I dont know the wire colors or what the soft top switch looks like, but it will work.

why you would want to do it is beyond me though.

Whoa guys, there's more to it than the e-brake switch.

The convertible top module looks at 2 things - it wants to see a ground from the parking brake and it does NOT want to see speed pulses from the speed signal circuit. Just bypassing the e-brake won't do you any good at all.

Check out the link above, it has both wires identified.

Most people that have done this leave the brake connected and pull it up one click to open/close the top. At least that way they won't get surprised when they are driving down the Interstate at 70mph with the top down and little cousin Jimmy decides to play with the top button and gets it ripped off the car before the driver knows what's going on.

From what I've seen, moving the top at 20mph or less is not a problem.

so, just to clarify, "The white w/ black stripe wire is the speed sensor. If you cut or remove that wire, you can put the top down while moving with the e-brake pulled up 'one click' -- just enough to activate the 'brake' light on the instrument console."

this will not effect my DCI's speed sensor and I will be able to raise or lower the top with one click on the e-brake, correct?
