Default Opinion on Alpine CDA-9835

I was thinking about buying an Alpine CDA-9835 and just wanted to know what you guys think about this head unit. I thought for the price ($400.00) it was pretty good. Love to hear some opinions from those who've dealt with it though. Thanks!

Great Cd/mp3/wma player, great sound, and more unbelievable quality, is once again put out by Alpine. The backgrounds for the screen are very nice, only 5 to choose from. The Bio-lite display is very easy to read at night and very bright. In the setup there are just too many options to list, plus you can find a color for the four main buttons that will match your cars interior lighting. (512 to choose from) Only drawbacks I can see is that if you dont' know what your doing, and trying to play with those options it can be a disaster in the making, and you need to have the radio wired directly to the battery because of the excessive power draw that it requires, (ie. 8-10 gauge wiring kit) if you like to leave your car off and listen to the radio, you can't do that with this baby, cuz your car will need a jump start, (been there and done this). But other than those two things this radio is amazing.

I have it. Love it, makes the stock speakers sound so much better. However, my AM doesn't work...Only one station comes in barely...Not sure what's wrong with it.

I didn't know that they still had AM stations.... lol j/k but you might want to check to make sure that the tuner mode is set at "normal", if it is not set at normal switch it to that, and if that doesn't work then switch it down to stable, and if this fails, take out the radio, make sure that the antenna wire is secure, or just buy a new antenna.
