500/1 and 12w6 is in my garage, next to 300/2. I am getting a custom sub box under the strut bar of the Z, and use the w6 with it. Focal k2p's on the front with 300/2 and alpine 9855 + ipod adapter + xm reciver is the plan so far.

I was gonna use kenwood 7015 or the 815 dvd players on the front, then I decided not to spend way too much money. First plan consisted 1 more set of k2p's + 2 10w7's, 1000/1, one more 300/2, dvd player on the front, xbox behind the seat with wireless controllers etc. However that plan has been aborted due to limited funds

I have a shop that wants to build custom box for 12w6, sell me 9833 and a set of k2p's install 2 amps components Hu etc everyuthing for $1250.
Best k2p price I found was $500, best 9833 I found was $289 + shipping thats about $800 and no warranty, might have to pay tax depending on the warehouse.
So if this guy matches all the prices ( I dont think he will) it leaves him with $450 for box+ install. If he charges me $50 each over internet price it leaves him $350 for box and install.
What do you think pj? Good deal?

 

actually? $1250 for all that? that isn't a bad price at all, imo. if he's including the K2P's, the HU, install of amps, HU, speakers, and a custom sub box?

depending on how 'custom' the box, that isn't a bad price. a custom enclosure could easily run you $250 normally. all the rest installed for $100-$200? not bad at all.

i'd pull the trigger. it's not the deal of a century, but i don't think you're getting scammed.

(the 9833 is an older model, but still a very nice HU. if anything, i'd try to pitch for the 9853 for the same price.)

 

All I can comment about Focal's is that I put a set in my dodge truck and at any volume level they sound perfect. At super high volume levels there is like no distortion and I have a J&L 300/4 powering them and a J&L W6!
