Default opinions on my potential stereo

hey guys i'm looking to completely get my stock stereo upgraded. i've done a lot of research on the various components and value your opinion on the equipment:

kicker solobaric 10" 06s10L74 - i'm looking to get a box custom fitted in the center well of the trunk - coincidentally, is this something i can buy online?

Alpine PDX-4.150 - 4 channel amp - i'm hoping this amp will be powerful enough to run the sub and door speakers

boston acoustics component 6.5" & tweeter SL60

JVC SH-1000 - the reason i like this one is because of the usb input...kenwood seems to be the only alternative and i'm not fond of the design.

any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would get a kenwood excellon deck over a JVC anyday. As for the fronts the Bostons are good I would also look into Focal or Diamond audio. Kicker makes a ok sub for the money I would also look at JL audio 10W3 or an Diamond Audio D10D3. For amps I looked at the alpine but from what I have read they only produce 150 watts rms at 14.4 volts which our cars will never do. When looking for amps look for something tested at 12V. Phoenix gold, Rockford Fosgate have all been rated good this year and are arounD the same price as the Alpine. A good MDF box would do you fine down in the trunk well but a custom made box is always better and something you can do yourself if you have some skill.

thanks for the advice Spoonie. i never thought to look for the voltage on the amps. i was looking at the RF power t8004 but i'm not sure if it will fit...it's pretty large. one more question...what is MDF?
