Damn... that's pretty serious but that's exaclty what I was talking about. That's pretty good. Now a few question, if you don't mind answering:

The autolock clutch pedal was purchased where?

How the heck did you make a fuel cut off switch?

Thanks for replies, I appreciate it.

Believe they call that a Dallas Boot (probably has some other names as well).

I have seen repo cars dragged onto a flat bed with Dallas Boots, steering wheel locks, whatever - a thief could do the same.

The best way to protect your car is to not leave it anywhere you think it would go missing - a locked garage is probably the safest bet.

Short of either a flatbed hauler or some dirtbag at a dealership programming a key for someone to defeat the immobilizer - the S2000 is more at risk of vandals and stereo equipment theives than actual theft. I have not personally heard tale of one that has actually been stolen out-right, but I am sure it has happened.
That sounds about right. I see what you mean about theives being able to just truck it onto a flatbed truck, but how often do you know of a theive owning a flatbed truck?... lol. You know if they had one they would probably sell it for some drug money. Also, if the car is parallel parked in between other cars, the flatbed won't do them much unless the drag the car out first, which I'm sure they would try.

I agree with you about not taking the car to places where you think it will get stolen, but if you do have to go somewhere like that for some reason, knowing you have that added security will help. Also, around my town I know that there are some kids that scout for theives and tell them where the cars are located, so that kind of sucks too.

Thanks man,
Andre

The only stolen S I heard of was from when the owner was robbed of his keys, and the thieves got the car later that day.

Blinking LED or other visual additions give the appearance of an alarm, and I think Modifry has a piece of kit to get the 04+ security light to blink.

Other than that, an actual alarm to make noise if someone messes with the car, and a fuel/ignition cut off to keep the car from running even if the thief gets the key.

Also seat locks to keep the seats planted in the car. I view a break in/vandalism as an annoyance but also as a good opportunity to get a new roof/seats/stereo etc - as long as they don't get my car and learn what a pain it is to mess with my stuff. Home Alone inspired me...

The good news is that car thefts are down since 2002 thanks to immobilizer keys like the S has, the bad news is thieves are stripping cars on the spot to get more expensive parts that cars now come with. I haven't heard of anyone taking S2000 headlights though, and aside from the seats and engine, there's not a lot of tech in the car.
I like to hear this whole thing about the immobilizer key because I had no idea that the S2K comes with one, considering I don't own one yet. But there's a good chance that I will be owning one within 2 months (I really hope), so I just want to know in advance to be better prepared.

Thanks for your help,
Andre

The S2000 has an immobilizer key.

That's about all there is to it. What else were you looking for?

I had no idea. That's why I said it's good to know because now I don't have to worry as much if I end up getting and S2K.

I've also heard of using a baby monitor to listen to what's going on in/around your car. When somebody makes noise, you go out with a weapon of choice and deal with the situation.

You all will probably laugh at me, but, I would get an alarm, and leave the doors UNLOCKED.

This will save your top, thieves will think you are nearby, since the doors are unlocked, and even if they were locked, its still easy to get into. Leaving your doors unlocked pretty much saves your top and glass.
Actually I totally agree with you and take it one step further and just leave my top down usually.

I have nothing to hide since everything is stock inside the car. My seats have locks on them and everything else is OEM so not much to take really.

But I agree with the philosophy that the less attention you attract to the car the better and avoid areas that is questionable. But last resort is always car insurance claims

No way to prevent vandalism and all those talking alarms and prox sensors is all assuming you are nearby to hear it. Otherwise drawing attention with talking alarms might just piss the thief off more to vandalize your car. Sometimes people just want to get a closer look to admire your car and hearing it talk back might make them pissed off too....

So OEM alarm is plenty good for me.

OH for those worried about theft of the actual car you may want to consider a removeable steering wheel hub. That is even better than having a steering wheel lock.

Make sure you get the keys from the dealer - there are three, and they cost almost $80 to buy and code, so you want to make sure the dealer doesn't short you.
