PAC will be releasing a new replacement shift knob in 5 colors with radio control button embedded in the knob.

SK-1

Will this be a product S2000 owners will be interested in?

From what I gathered it will be a more immediate response vs the SWIX and can supplement or replace it. So you can have radio, dash, remote and shifter controls for your radio.

I will be interested. How hard would it be to wire it to my Kenwood MP919?

I don't think this would be a convenience for me at all. I guess my Daddy taught me too many good habits. He always said to keep your hands on the wheel, not on the shifter. First, you're more likely to need to steer in a hurry than shift in a hurry, and second, it's not good to apply any pressure to the shifter unless you're actually shifting - it wears out the shift forks and synchros.

So as a result of 30 years of being a good boy, my hand automatically leaves the shifter and goes back to the wheel, many times even between shifts. But that's the way I drive, your experience may be different.

It's hard to say yet if its a good thing or not. If you have the SWIX and a new deck in your car you already have 3 controls - remote, dash, and deck. To me, it will all come down to how it feels and looks. I'm sure it will be priced around an OEM titanium knob.

Like everything else I'll get one and post my opinion on it.
